Library program: The library is an extremely important place for children to learn and to grow. Our program is designed to inspire and motivate children to become life-long learners and to love reading.
First Learn to Read, Then Read to Learn
Be sure to check the Bobcat News for information and updates on the library program. Our library currently houses over 10,000 volumes of quality literature and resource materials. Children may check books out to be used at home or to use as resource materials in their classrooms.
In keeping up with the technology age, our library uses L4U, an online library program which allows us to track students checkout history, overdue books, and place reserves on popular books. Students and parents can access our catalog @ ipac.tworockschool.trusd.org
. Parents now have the ability to help their students pick age/level appropriate books. We are also beginning to label our books with Accelerated Reader
levels so students are able to choose books according to their individual abilities.
The following guidelines are to insure effective implementation of our Library Program:
1. TK-1st graders may check out one book per week, 2nd graders may check out two books per week, and 3rd-6th graders may check out up to 3 books per week. When these books are returned more checkouts are allowed.
2. There are no fines for overdue books, but we encourage their immediate return so others may also enjoy them. Each class has a weekly library visitation day. Please take note of this day and help your child gather his/her library books the night before.
|Tuesday||TK, 1st, 2nd|
|Thursday||5th & 6th|
3. In the event that a book is lost or damaged, the replacement cost of the book is the parent’s responsibility.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED AND WELCOME! Please visit the library and begin your rewarding volunteer experience TODAY!
We always accept and appreciate, used (in good condition) and new books.
