A School with Deep Rural Roots

Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, Two Rock Union School District offers students something truly special—a learning environment surrounded by open fields, working dairy farms, and the natural beauty of rural West Marin. Our campus sits adjacent to the historic Two Rock region, where agriculture, community, and education have been connected for generations.

 

Life at Two Rock reflects the character of our community. The surrounding farmland and nearby military installation create a peaceful setting where students can experience a close-knit school environment while staying connected to the area's rich agricultural heritage.

 

One memorable part of that tradition was George, the school's beloved barn cat. George spent nearly 17 years around the campus, becoming a familiar and friendly presence for students, staff, and families. Like many rural schools and farms, barn cats have long played a practical role in helping manage pests while becoming cherished members of the community.

 

Although George has since passed, his memory remains part of Two Rock's story. Today, neighboring farm cats still occasionally make their nighttime rounds, continuing a tradition that reflects the district's unique connection to the surrounding agricultural landscape.

 

It's these small details—along with dedicated teachers, engaged families, and a strong sense of community—that make Two Rock Union School District a place unlike any other.
